Am cumpărat unul din dulapurile astea acum câteva luni, când ne-am mutat, și unul dintre mânere s-a rupt la scurt timp după ce l-am montat. De obicei sunt un mare fan al produselor de la Ikea – pentru că sunt accesibile, versatile și ergonomice, fiind totodată și minimale si ivovative -, dar mânerele acestui dulap chiar lasă de dorit. În primul rând, sunt de plastic, imită probabil un alt material, dar arată îndoielnic; apoi, au multe colțuri care, credeți-mă pe cuvânt, provoacă mai multe vânătăi decât v-ați putea imagina; și nu în ultimul rând, sunt complet nerezistente – dovada este mai jos.
Astfel că, în momentul în care, din motive obiective, am mai avut nevoie de încă un dulap, am vrut să comandăm și alte mânere. M-am tot uitat eu pe net, am găsit multe variante, și apoi mi-am amintit că aveam bucata asta de piele pe care o puteam folosi – vedeți de ce unii oameni nu aruncă niciodată unele lucruri, chiar dacă nu le-au folosit de ani buni? Nu se știe niciodată când ai nevoie de mânere noi la dulap!

Generally I’m a huge fan of the Ikea products – as they’re affordable, versatile and ergonomic, while also being minimal and innovative -, but the quality of this wardrobe’s handles was totally questionable. Firstly, they’re made of plastic, probably trying to simulate other material’s features in a doubtful way; then, it has a lot of small corners which, believe me, are causing more bruises than you might imagine; last but not least, they’re completely unresistant – proof is below.
Thus, when we needed a second wardrobe, because of reasons, we wanted to order some new handles, too. I looked on the internet for a while, I did find some options, but then I remembered I had this piece of leather which I could use – see why some people never throw away some stuff, even if not used for a long while? You never know when you’re going to need some new wardrobe handles!

Materialele și uneltele de care ai nevoie pentru aceste mânere:
- piele (pe care o tai în fâșii late de vreo 2 centimetri, si mai lungi cu vreo 4 centimetri decât distanța dintre găurile existente)
- preducea – pentru găuri în piele
- foarfecă, creion, liniar
- șuruburi – la fel de groase ca și găurile existente, sau puțin mai subțiti
- piulițe și șaibe potrivite pentru șuruburi alese

- leather (which you have to cut into 2cm-wide strips, with a length having about 4cm extra than the distance between the holes)
- eyelet – for leather holes
- scissors, pencil, ruler
- screws – having the same thickness as the existing holes, or a bit thinner
- nuts and washers – suitable for the screws
