România e frumoasă! Când am fost în Israel am fost impresionată de relieful țării, și toate peisajele ne tăiau răsuflarea. Aproape că mi se părea cel mai frumos loc din lume; bine, poate nu e convingător, eu spun și simt asta despre aproape toate locurile în care merg. Am fost, însă, plăcut surprinsă să aflu, din mai multe discuții cu israelieni care au vizitat România, că lor li se pare țara noastră cu mult mai frumoasă decât a lor. Nu cred că vreuna dintre cele două, sau dintre oricare două țări din lume poate fi într-adevăr mai frumoasă decât cealaltă. Ba din contră, fiecare are frumusețea ei aparte, și noi suntem cei care trebuie să învățăm să o vedem.
De Anul Nou am fost intr-o excursie cu mașina prin Bucovina. Am vizitat câteva mănăstiri din zonă – Voroneț, Sucevița, Moldovița și Putna -, am fost in drumeții pe dealuri, ne-am bălăcit în apă sărată la un spa. În noaptea de revelion am făcut un foc de tabără lângă cabană și ne-am bucurat să petrecem în aer liber, înconjurați de dealuri. Am băut vin de casă, am gătit în ceaun, și bonus, am fost și până în Ucraina intr-o zi (o experiență pentru care am sentimente atăt de neutre, încât nu țin neapărat să o povestesc în detaliu). Ne-au impresionat natura, istoria și tradițiile din zonă, și vrem să ne întoarcem și la vară, de data aceasta pe două roți.

EN: Romania is beautiful! When I’ve been to Israel I was impressed by the country’s relief, and every landscape took my breath away. It almost seemed like the most beautiful place on Earth to me; ok, maybe it’s not valid, as I always say and feel this about almost every new place I visit. But while talking with some Israelis who’ve visited Romania, I was surprised to find out that they think our country is way more beautiful than theirs. I don’t believe any of the two, or of any two countries in this world could possibly be more beautiful than the other. Actually I believe the contrary, that each of them has its own beauty, and we’re the ones who need to learn how to see it.
On the New Year’s eve we took a road trip around Bucovina. We visited some monasteries – Voroneț, Sucevița, Moldovița and Putna -, we hiked up the hills, we soaked in salty water at a spa. On the New Year’s night, we built a camp fire near our cabin and we enjoyed celebrating in nature, surrounded by hills. We drank homemade wine, we cooked in the cauldron and we also took a short day-trip to Ukraine (such a neutral experience that I wouldn’t bother to narrate it). The nature, the history and traditions impressed us, and we plan returning during the summer, on two wheels this time.
